Collectable Cities X Thunderbirds?
It is not a go!
We were contacted by the Gerry Anderson company in March to do a collectibles collaboration with their Thunderbirds IP - reimagined in our style. Gerry Anderson’s company also made hits Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, Stingray, Joe 90, Space:1999, UFO and Space Precinctto to name a few.
They loved our original designs but sadly after a lot of work / back and fourth the project was declined by ITV, who own the rights to Thunderbirds now. We later found out there was contract between ITV and Weta around the Thunderbirds reboot in 2000, causing some additional red tape in the toy category. This was interpreted in a way that hampered our creative input and unfortunately lead to a lot of wasted time and effort. We can go into more details if people want to know, but were curious to hear what you think of the figures!
Are you a thunderbirds fan? Would you have loved this collab / wanted to own the collection? We’d love to know!
